Lake Placid is bringing the Fourth of July back to the basics this year: games, music, food, families, volunteers, and a town park full of red, white, and blue.
The Town of Lake Placid, along with community partners and volunteers, will host an old-fashioned Fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Devane Park.
The event is free.
Organizers are planning a family-friendly day with games, music, food, a jump castle, and activities for all ages. The celebration is also America’s 250th Anniversary. This event is timed for all to enjoy the day and still have plenty of time to rest and regroup for the fireworks at Lake June Park sponsored by the Legacy Foundation.
What makes the event possible is the community behind it.
Sponsors and supporters include Amazon, Clearwave Fiber, Morning Rotary, The Purple Iris Tea Room, GNr Eventz, Jump N Beanz, the Masonic Lodge, Frank Youngman for Highlands County Commissioner, Lake Placid Insider, and other local supporters. Volunteers are also helping bring the day together.
It is the kind of event Lake Placid does best — simple, local, and built by people who want families to have somewhere to go without worrying about the cost.
The celebration will take place at Devane Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
