Lake Placid voters will have a chance Thursday night to hear from local candidates before the Aug. 18 Primary Election.
The Highlands County GOP candidate forum will be held July 9 at the Genesis Center, 218 E. Belleview St. in Lake Placid. A meet-and-greet begins at 5:30 p.m., and the forum will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
The forum includes candidates for the Highlands County School Board and the Highlands County Board of County Commissioners. The public may submit questions for the candidates.

Every registered voter in Highlands County will be able to vote in the Aug. 18 Primary Election, regardless of party affiliation. Voters should check their sample ballot before assuming the election does not include them.
