The Heartland Titans returned to Roger Scarborough Stadium Saturday for their first home games of the 2026 season, bringing youth football and cheer to the field in Lake Placid. The Titans, part of the Florida Elite Football & Cheerleading league, faced the Celebration Storm in the second week of their 10-game season.
The organization gives young athletes the opportunity to participate in football and cheer, with programs extending through age 14. Saturday also offered everything you’d expect – concession stand, snow cones, food trucks and families. Volunteers worked the gate, concessions, making sure everyone stayed hydrated and safe.

The Titans have been active in the community throughout the year, holding fundraisers including Bingo at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and car washes at O’Reilly Auto Parts, along with raffles. Those efforts help support football equipment, cheer uniforms and gear, travel and other expenses that come with operating the program.
Saturday’s game followed the Titans’ Aug. 15 season opener on the road against the Pinellas Park T-Birds.
Four more home dates remain on the schedule at Roger Scarborough Stadium: Sept. 5 against the Orlando Chiefs, Sept. 26 against Showtime Boltz, Oct. 3 against the New Manatee Broncos and Oct. 17 against the Polk County Kobras.
The Titans will be back on the road next Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Sarasota Seminoles.
While registration for the current season has ended, support for the Heartland Titans continues throughout the year. Sponsorship opportunities are available, helping the organization cover program costs and ensure that registration fees do not prevent a child from participating.
