Lake Placid may be known for its murals, lakes and small-town charm, but inside P2P Studio Academy, another kind of creative energy is taking shape.
The studio is run by Geronimo and Betzaida Santana, a couple who came to Lake Placid expecting to retire. Opening a new business was not exactly the plan. But after settling into the community, they saw a need — and more than that, they saw possibility.
P2P Studio Academy is part music school, part recording studio, part creative workspace and part passion project.
Students can take vocal lessons, guitar lessons and piano lessons. They can learn music production, audio engineering, mixing and mastering, or artist development. Those interested in creating a professional podcast can use the on-site podcast center. Musicians who want to record an album can do that, too.

And this is not just for young students. One of the studio’s clients is over 70 years old and learning to play piano for the first time.
That may be the clearest example of what P2P Studio Academy is really about. It is not just about training future performers. It is about giving people of all ages a place to try, learn, create and grow. While I was there, I had the pleasure of hearing one of the students, Julian, perform a wonderful version of “Summer Wind.” It was quite impressive — and a good reminder that P2P Studio Academy is not just teaching music in theory. Students are learning, practicing and performing in a real studio setting.

Geronimo and Betzaida bring a serious background to the work. Both are accomplished singers/songwriters. Their services include music education, vocal coaching, piano lessons, guitar lessons, audio engineering courses, music production, professional recording, mixing and mastering, artist development and podcast production.
The academy is also Step Up certified, offering curriculum-based instruction for families using approved education funding options.
The atmosphere is not flashy or corporate. It feels personal. It feels like something built by people who care deeply about the arts and about making creative instruction accessible in Lake Placid.
For students, artists, families, podcasters or anyone who has quietly wondered whether it is too late to start, P2P Studio Academy offers a pretty simple answer:
No, it is not too late.
Whether someone wants to sing better, play an instrument, record a song, produce music, start a podcast or finally sit down at a piano for the first time, P2P Studio Academy is giving Lake Placid a local place to begin.
