As the school year comes to a close, Youth for Christ Highlands is bringing churches and students together for a summer kickoff in Lake Placid. Organizers say the goal is to help students learn what opportunities are available in Lake Placid and encourage them to stay connected over the summer.

The event is planned for May 23 at Stuart Park from noon to 3 p.m., the day after the last day of school.

Local churches are being invited to set up booths, share information about summer programs, and connect directly with middle and high school students. The afternoon will include food, music, and games designed to create a fun and welcoming environment.

The event will be promoted through local schools, with hopes of reaching youth across the Lake Placid area.
